Ms Mtonga is an accomplished Executive Director with over 35 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry, specializing in risk management, governance, compliance, operations, credit assurance, and recoveries across South Africa and the African continent.
Currently serving as Group Head of Risk Human Capital at Absa Group, she acts as a subject matter expert and strategic advisor on enterprise-wide risk and people risk management. Her focus is on embedding strong governance frameworks, shaping risk strategies, and driving transformation that ensures regulatory alignment, sustainable performance, and resilience.
