Susan Daniel
Susan Daniel is a Strategic Board Advisor, Non-Executive Director and former Chief Risk Officer with over 30 years of international experience in governance, enterprise risk, resilience and risk-informed decision-making across sovereign wealth, government-owned investment platforms, multi-sector portfolios and complex institutional environments.
She has held senior leadership roles including Chief Risk Officer at ADQ and Chief Risk & Compliance Officer at the Oman Investment Authority, where she built and strengthened enterprise risk and governance capabilities across diverse investment portfolios and state-owned enterprises. Her experience spans investment risk, risk appetite, capital allocation, operational resilience, compliance, cyber and geopolitical risk, and Board-level oversight.
Susan is also the Founder and CEO of Aquilae Consulting LLC, advising Boards, Audit & Risk Committees, CEOs and senior executives across the GCC and wider EMEA on governance maturity, risk culture, Board effectiveness and enterprise risk management.
A PwC-qualified Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and ISO 31000 Certified, Susan is also a founding partner and faculty member of the GCC Board Directors Institute, where she advises and trains Directors, Chairs, Committees and Company Secretaries on governance, risk oversight and effective Board decision-making.
